Wicked Game (2024): E/112
This is my cover of Chris Isaak's song Wicked Game. One of my many favourite songs. I wanted to learn and record this one for some time now. I stripped it down a bit and left out the keyboards and synths...just basic guitars, bass and vocals.
Vocal - Me but singing in lower registers as I can't hit the higher notes he sings.
Vocal Harmonies - Track 1 me singing low, Track 2 raised by software, Track 3 raised more by software, Track 4 me singing an octave above Track 1. I raised the volume on the harmonies as the original was hidden too much for me.
Acoustic guitar - My Seagull acoustic panned full left
Electric guitar - My Fender Strat playing chords and licks panned full right
Bass - My Vantage bass. I like to slide some bass notes as I use flat wound strings so no finger noise and easier to slide notes.
Drums - I used a song splitter to extract the original drums instead of creating them myself as this uses brushes which I haven't figured out how to implement with my drum software yet.
