Sympathy For The Devil (2024): D#m/120
Alternate

This is my cover of Motorhead's - Sympathy For The Devil (originally by the Rolling Stones). I checked out lots of covers of this song but kept coming back to Motorhead's version. This is my first attempt to play and record heavier music. I dusted off my Dunlop Cry Baby Wah pedal and used it for lead, licks and one rhythm track. I also used an auto panning plugin to get the lead moving back and forth...best heard with headphones, ear buds or wide stereo speakers. I couldn't sing like Lemmy (RIP) even if I smoked two packs of cigarettes and drank rot gut whiskey all night long. I think this is some of my best guitar playing to date.

Vocal - Me with some vocal distortion
Harmony Vocals - Me on two tracks
Drums - Loved the drum track from their record so I used a track splitter to extract their drums. The splitter doesn't always come up with a clean split but this time the drums were great.
Bass - My Vantage Bass with lots of distortion. Lemmy usually cranked up his Marshall stacks to get distortion on his Rickenbacker bass guitar.
Electric guitar - Track 1 my Epi Les Paul playing lead with the Wah pedal and lots of stereo panning going back and forth.
Electric guitar - Track 2 my Epi Les Paul with lots of power chords for rythm panned 100% Left.
Electric guitar - Track 3 my Epi Les Paul through the wah panned 100% Right
