Rooster (2025): Fm/73
This is my cover of Rooster by Alice in Chains. I bought this songs in separate tracks from JamTrax and used their drums and vocals. I can't sing hard or rough...it always sounds like someone is torturing small animals...it ain't pretty! I tuned down 1/2 step to Eb as most of their songs (and many other bands) use that tuning for a lower and heavier sound. I chose to do this mostly acoustically. I used my Ebow on my acoustic for the first time. An Ebow is an electromagnetic device you hold over a string and it causes the string to vibrate with full sustain. I love the background droning tones and also use it for leads sometimes. It was more difficult to get steady, consistent tone from the Ebow on an acoustic...it doesn't help that I have intermittent hand tremors now. The Ebow is easier to use on an electric guitar with the advantage of moving it towards or away from a pickup to give a more dynamic sound.
